Hertford Museum approached HCS over the summer for display items contributing to their forthcoming autumn exhibition on 'Giving Glory'.

Items from performances of sacred music across our repertoire were donated for show for the Musical Mystery Tour/Hertford Music Festival at the end of August.

The full exhibition at Hertford Museum opens in October.

We start rehearsals at Sele School, Hertford, SG14 2DG on Tuesday 6th September 2016 in preparation for our performance of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle on Saturday 5th November 2016.

New members are very welcome to join, whatever your level of experience. You have the opportunity to join Taster Rehearsals free and, if you decide you would like to sing with us, you can do so for a term for a Taster Fee of £20, including music.

Instead of our usual summer concert, we spent a hot June weekend recording for our latest CD - Their Sound Has Gone Out.

The CD will feature a representative selection of Hertford Choral Society's recent repertoire.  It also includes percussion, Accordion5 and the marvellous organ and piano playing of Peter Jaekel and Sue Graham Smith, and all conducted by our musical director Derek Harrison.

The CD will be ready for sale in the autumn and, priced at £10, will make a super Christmas present for friends and family ... more details will appear nearer the time and you can pre-order via our HCS Shop page here.

The Hertfordshire Festival of Music launched with its inaugural concert on Saturday 11th June 2016, with a recital by Tasmin Little and John Lenehan, at All Saints' Church, Hertford, SG13 8AY.
