Hertford's new chamber choir had a first public performance in March 2022 singing choral evensong at St Stephen's Church, Rochester Row, Westminster, London, accompanied by the church's organist Matthew Blaiden. The music included Charles Stanford Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, Claudio Monteverdi Adoramus Te and William Smith Preces and Responses. We were resplendent in cassocks and surplices kindly lent to us by St Mary's Hertingfordbury which a couple of choir members kindly transported up to central London. After the service we headed off for some drinks and a meal at a local Italian restaurant, making a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all.

Our next performance will be local in Hertford on Friday June 3rd, 2022 when we will be singing in the Jubilee Choral Celebration as part of the Hertfordshire Festival of Music 2022. We also have a concert planned later in the year as well as a trip to Vienna. HCC has a small number of vacancies for singers including soprano, alto and tenor voice parts and auditions can be arranged on request.
